Why you shouldn’t use the same password twice!
The downside of a strong password is that they’re not that easy to remember. So when you’ve selected one you can remember, it’s tempting to use it for all of your accounts. This is a really bad idea.
If a hacker is able to decipher, find or buy your password from the dark web for one account, then they will often try the same password for any of your other accounts they have details for.
This could obviously result in gaining access to multiple accounts to steal from you, whether it be money or your information. Making the impact of a Cyber Attack much worse.
Our advice –
- Never use the same password twice.
- Ensure the passwords you do use are strong with a combination of letters, numbers and special characters.
- Use a password manager to help you remember multiple passwords (Find out more about these in tomorrow’s tip).
