Top Broadband Speeds 'Impossible' To Receive Broadband customers are not getting the top download speeds they are paying for, the communications regulator has said. Users not able to get the top speed on their broadband packages, more than half are forking out for packages offering speeds of "up to" 8 megabits per second (Mbps), but research by Ofcom found in reality they only get an average speed of 3.9 Mbps.
